In this article we will discuss about the structure of Razor Fish (Solen) with the help of a diagram.
1. Its common name is razor shell or razor fish and is found in India and U.S.A. It is a burrowing bivalve.
2. The shell valves are long, of equal size, with parallel straight margins and with terminal umbo.

3. The ends of the shell valve are gaping and the muscles are Isomyarian. The pallial lines extend beyond adductor muscles.
4. The foot is strong, highly muscular and projects from the anterior end and acts as a boring organ.
5. The byssus and byssus threads are absent.
6. On the posterior end, from the mantle cavity, projects out two unequal siphons. The larger one is the inhalent siphon.
